One word I would describe H.E.R. (born Gabriella Wilson)
“H.U.M.B.L.E.”
Initially I was kind of…well..in my head, I thought I would feel out of place first of all being at her show…then actually waiting to meet her along with many other ‘young’ fans. Every one was in awe of Miss Gabi, some fans were crying even! 😮
Although I had stood the entire concert, and prior to that stood in the rain waiting for the doors to open I, too was looking forward to meeting HER! I just had to see this 21yo pint-size powerhouse ‘old soul’ up close and personal. 😂
My turn comes, she greets me with a hug, as I tell her how much I enjoyed her performance! With her signature shades on, soft-spoken voice, she thanks me and says “I really like your hair!” I laughed inside because, at that moment I had NO idea what my hair looked like…au naturale for sure after being in the rain and thru a show…but I guess if Gabi liked it, then I was okay with it too. LOL Naturally I thanked her (no pun intended) as well for the compliment.
I remarked how impressed and proud of her I am and mentioned my favorite of hers at that time was “Lord Is Coming”. She was very appreciative of that. Next was a photo op, which was actually taken with a Polaroid camera, talk about ol school! 👌🏽 Knowing her persona and the meaning behind her stage-name: Having Everything Revealed, it was truly no surprise. Very clever indeed. 😊
Meeting H.E.R. was such a positive experience for us all and the icing on the cake of a phenomenal performance!
