Little Caesar’s Arena | Detroit MI

Great NIght for SOUL!

Alright, y’all, buckle up because I am still floating on cloud nine after The Serenade Tour in Detroit! Little Caesars Arena was blessed with 3.5 hours of REAL music from REAL SANGERS! (Yes, you read that right, with an ‘A’ because this wasn’t your average singing!) The energy in the arena was unmatched, and the night felt like a beautiful, soulful journey from start to finish.

October London: The Perfect Opening

First up was the smooth crooner October London, who set the mood just right. He opened with his current single “She Keeps Calling” from his new album “October Nights” – and let me tell you, that man’s voice is like velvet. He then took us on a trip through “The Rebirth of Marvin”, serenading us with those classic Marvin Gaye vibes but with his own modern twist. His set was only about 20 minutes, but he didn’t waste a single second – had us hooked from the first note to the last! The crowd was vibing hard, and we were definitely loving it. October, if you’re reading this, give us a longer set next time!

Jazmine Sullivan: A Powerful Surprise

Now, let me confess – I’ve never seen Jazmine Sullivan live before, so I had zero expectations going in. I wasn’t super familiar with her catalog, but WOW, she did not disappoint. She came out swinging with “Bust Your Windows” right at the top of her set, and it was like, “Okay, Jazmine, I see you!” Her vocals were insane, and her background singers were tight! Some highlights? She had us all up in our feelings with “Let It Burn,” and of course, the crowd went wild for “Need U Bad.” She showed why she’s considered one of the best next generation artists in the game, and by the end of her set, I was like,  Jazmine, you’ve officially won me over!

Maxwell: The Main Event, My Main Squeeze!

And then, the man of the hour – my main squeeze (don’t judge me!) – MAXWELL. Now, I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve seen him live, but listen, he always brings something fresh, and this night was no exception. This man knows how to make an entrance! He kicked off his set in the back of the arena, singing his current single “Simply Beautiful” as he made his way to the stage, leaving a trail of swooning fans in his wake. The rest of the show? Pure magic.

He hit us with classics like “Ascension (Don’t Ever Wonder),” “Pretty Wings,” and “Lifetime,” and every note was perfection. Maxwell’s voice? Still as smooth as ever. He had the entire arena hanging on every word, every high note, every groove. And then, in true Maxwell fashion, he took it up a notch – handing out roses! Unfortunately, I wasn’t close enough to throw some elbows for one, but the gesture was pure romance. He was spreading the love in every way, and the audience felt it.

I never know what to expect from Maxwell – on stage or off stage – but that’s what makes him so special. He gives you everything and then some. Honestly, this might have been the best tour of his I’ve ever seen. The energy, the passion, the connection he has with his fans – it was all next level.

In short, if The Serenade Tour is coming to a city near you, RUN, don’t walk, to get those tickets! Trust me, you won’t regret it. This was 3.5 hours of soulful, heart-melting perfection, and I’m still smiling from ear to ear.
