A Night of Timeless R&B
‘If you ever wondered what it’s like to time-travel back to the 90s age of R&B while keeping your feet firmly planted in 2024, the Tamia and Joe concert in St. Louis was exactly that—an unforgettable blast from the past with a fresh twist!
Let’s start with Tamia, shall we? This was my first time seeing her live, and wow, she totally brought it. Picture this: She steps onto the stage looking gorgeous and not aged a bit, and the crowd just melts. Her voice? Flawless. Hearing her sing the classics like “You Put a Move on My Heart” felt like a warm hug from the ’90s, cuz that was my slow jam! And when she performed “Spend My Life with You,” although not the entire song, I was loving it…now one day I hope to see her and Eric perform it together!
But the real fun kicked in when she hit us with “Can’t Get Enough.” You know the one—yes, the line dance that went viral! Toward the end of the song, Tamia showed us her moves, and suddenly, the aisles turned into a mini dance party. Everyone was getting down, and it was a vibe. As for me? Well, I never quite mastered that dance, I was content being on the sidelines as I documented the moment in video and watching it all unfold!
Then came Joe. I’ve seen him several times before, so I knew I was in for something good, but this time, he brought his A-game and then some. Looking as smooth as ever, Joe had us all swooning with every note. And he wasn’t just singing—he was joking, flirting with the crowd, and just being all-around charming. This was the last stop on their tour until the fall, so he made sure to leave us with a performance to remember.
By the time the concert wrapped up, I don’t think we were ready for it to end. Between Tamia’s stunning performance and Joe’s smooth serenades, it was a night of pure fun, great music, and dancing (even if I didn’t join in). Here’s to more nights like this—full of laughter, music, and memories that make you smile long after the final note fades away.
