Picture this: just two weeks ago, I was vibing with New Edition at the Cincinnati Music Fest, watching the fellas all clean-cut and suited up, bringing their timeless magic to the stage. Fast forward to August 9, 2024, and here I am at the Indiana State Fair, catching Bell Biv DeVoe in a completely different vibe—laid-back hip-hop gear, ready to let loose. The switch-up was seamless, and BBD proved they can bring it no matter the attire!
Coming back to the Indiana State Fair for round two was a no-brainer. I mean, after seeing them shine with New Edition, I couldn’t resist seeing BBD do their thing on their own. The moment they hit the stage, it was clear: these guys know how to turn up the energy, no matter the setting. They kicked off the night with their signature hits, and from the get-go, it was a party. We were on our feet, dancing, singing, and soaking in every beat….the entire show!
The fellas didn’t miss a step, and they even gave us a little taste of that New Edition flavor—because why not? They know how to keep their fans happy! But the best part? Celebrating Michael Bivins’ birthday a day early with a surprise shout-out. The crowd was all in, making it a moment to remember.
And then came the fun twist: inviting some audience members on stage to show off their dance moves. Now, let’s just say some of those moves were a mix of “wow, they’ve got skills” and “bless their hearts, they’re living their best life”. 😉 It was all in good fun and to enjoy that once-in-a-lifetime chance is what mattered!
Seeing BBD transform from polished performers with New Edition to laid-back, hip-hop kings at the fair was a reminder of just how versatile they are. Whether they’re suited up or rocking casual threads, they bring the same energy, passion, and iconic moves that keep us coming back for more.
It’s hard to believe they’re in their 50s because they’ve still got it—and they’re showing no signs of slowing down. The night was everything plus a workout—but the fun kind, where you’re smiling through the sweat and wondering why you don’t dance more often! 😂 Bell Biv DeVoe knows how to put on a show, and I’m just glad I got to experience both sides of their incredible talent.
