From the Jim Crow era to the demonstrations in the 1960’s the historical context within these walls will amaze you! What you think you already know, you will still learn so much more while visiting this museum. The building itself is beautiful! Inside is very spacious, well lit and inviting! There’s room to explore without feeling rushed to keep it moving. The main exhibits include “Barriers”, “Confrontation”, “Movement” and “Human Rights” galleries. There are various multimedia areas full of archival footage you can see and/or listen to. I could have easily spent an entire day to read and absorb everything. Definitely should be on the list of must-see historical places to visit! There is no way you can leave without being affected by the history here.
