Rock and Roll Hall of Fame | Cleveland OH

...Because One Visit Is Never Enough 🎸
There are certain places you can visit once and feel satisfied.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is not one of them.
On October 18th, with a Broadway matinee on my calendar (Hell’s Kitchen), I decided to squeeze in yet another visit to the Rock Hall, because when you’re in Cleveland, and you’ve got a little time before curtain call, why wouldn’t you? This wasn’t my first time… not my fifth… honestly, I’ve lost count. And still, it never gets old.
I arrived right as the doors opened, intentionally. My goal was to give myself enough time to comfortably walk through, no rushing, no power-walking exhibits like I was training for something. But let’s be real: you need a full day to truly absorb everything in that building. Every era, every artist, every story deserves time.
That said… I was on a schedule.
A Perfect, Unexpected Tie-In 🎹🔥
One of the highlights of this visit came as a complete surprise. I discovered a newer exhibit featuring Alicia Keys, where she donated original outfits that directly represent her Broadway play, Hell’s Kitchen, the very show I was seeing later that afternoon.
Now that was a moment.
Seeing her personal pieces on display before heading to the theater added a whole new layer of appreciation. It felt like a beautiful, unplanned connection between music history and live theater, past, present, and performance all colliding in the best way.
Familiar Favorites… With Something Always New
Some of the Rock Hall’s exhibits are familiar staples, and I don’t mind that at all. They’re like old friends you’re happy to see again and catch up on what you missed before. But what keeps pulling me back is that there’s always something new happening.
They’re currently undergoing renovations too, which makes me excited (and curious). If history tells us anything, whatever updates are coming will only make the experience more expansive and immersive in the future.
The SNL Exhibit: 50 Years of Legendary Moments 🎤📺
Now let’s talk about the exhibit that really made me lose track of time…
The brand-new exhibit celebrates 50 years of Saturday Night Live.
From the moment you walk in, the nostalgia hits. The iconic SNL theme music plays throughout the space, instantly transporting you back. There’s a countdown-style backdrop perfect for photos, giving that “live from New York…” energy we all know so well.
But the real magic?
They created listening and viewing stations where you can watch every single musical performance ever featured on SNL. And yes—I mean every. Artist. Every era. Every genre.
Prince. Whitney. Janet. Stevie. Run-DMC. Nirvana. Mary J. Blige. Beyoncé. Legends, icons, culture-shifters, all in one place.
I know I selected at least six performances… probably more… before I had to literally pull myself away and remind myself I had somewhere else to be. It’s the kind of exhibit where minutes disappear fast because you’re reliving moments you didn’t even realize were still living rent-free in your memory.
If you catch this exhibit while it’s there, do yourself a favor and allow extra time. This is not a “quick glance” situation. It’s joyful, nostalgic, emotional, and incredibly fun—especially for anyone who grew up with SNL as a Saturday night ritual.
Until Next Time…
As always, my visit ended the same way it always does, with the feeling that I didn’t see everything, and that I’ll absolutely be back.
Because the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame isn’t just a museum.
It’s a living, breathing archive of the soundtrack of our lives.
And clearly… one visit is never enough. 🎶✨
