A Night of Love & Soul!
Valentine’s Day 2024, in the heart of the Columbus Arena District, downtown, we were treated to an unforgettable evening of soulful performances as British artist Daley headlined “The Interlude Tour.”
However, before Daley took the stage, the night kicked off with local talent, courtesy of Columbus native N’Shai Iman, setting the tone for an evening of musical magic. N’Shai Iman warmed up the crowd with a soulful set. She covered Jill Scott and Bobby Caldwell classics as well as performed her original material which was a testament to her talent and versatility. N’Shai engaged the crowd and gave us great energy throughout.
Up next, DALEY! From the moment Daley graced the stage, his charisma and musical vibe captivated the audience with his smooth vocals and infectious energy. Daley’s setlist was a carefully curated blend of fan faves and hits such as ‘Look Up’, ‘Those Who Wait’, Blame the World’, ‘Be’, ‘Selfish’, ‘Temple’ and more PLUS an unexpected surprise of a new song from his forthcoming album! 👍Daley effortlessly navigated through a repertoire of his catalog keeping the audience thoroughly entertained. He even threw in a couple of Usher songs: ‘Can U Handle It’ and ‘Superstar’ along with Brandy‘s ‘When You Touch Me’ ❤️
A standout moment of the night was Daley’s heartfelt performance of “Time Travel,” a song that resonated deeply with the audience and one particular couple who told him this song got them through a lot in their relationship! He showed them love and appreciation which was so cool of him. As the night neared the end…Daley teased us thinking he was done, but of course we were not having that! Following the ‘Daley’ chant….here comes the encore…’Alone Together’ and ‘Until the Pain is Gone’…with a surprise interlude of George Michael‘s ‘Careless Whisper’. The audience erupted into applause and harmonized along with him!
Throughout the concert, Daley was engaging and expressed his gratitude for his fans unwavering support. His genuine interactions created an atmosphere of intimacy and camaraderie, further enhancing the concert experience for everyone in attendance.
But the magic of the evening wasn’t confined to the stage alone. After the show, Daley continued to spread joy by staying behind to meet fans, sign vinyl records, and take photos. His warmth and humility endeared him to fans even more, solidifying his reputation not just as a talented musician, but also as a gracious, humble and down-to-earth artist.
