The Nothing Held Back Tour!

Summary

The Sketchbook Tour was an EXPERIENCE!! If you left the building without feeling anything at all or changed in some way…you need help, for real! Where do I even start?? Allow me to give a slow build-up, with the opening acts:

The Bonfyre: I honestly was not familiar with her work and didn’t get the chance to research her music prior, but I must say, girl can really SANG! Her language was a bit ‘colorful’ but the music was good! My concert buddies at the show were surprised I had not heard of her but assured me I would recognize her more popular songs when I heard them. True enough, when she performed “U Say” and especially “Automatic” I was like…oh THAT’s her? 😮  She was the first act, no band behind her, but she did her thing.

Robin Thicke: My first time ever seeing him and he gave us a treat!! He looked and sounded GREAT! I hadn’t listened to his music in a long while, but he made me remember and enjoy as if he just stepped on the scene! Robin thrilled us all coming off the stage to sing through the audience during “Blurred Lines” and YES…he came MY way and I touched him! Sigh 😍 He was super energetic and had us on our feet! Besides his current single “When You Love Somebody” he also performed The Sweetest Love, Magic, Dreamworld, Lost Without You, Sidestep, Morning Sun, and Love After War.

Now about the headliner…Fantasia Monique Barrino-Taylor!  Yea, I know she is one of the few artists that can just go by their first name and we just KNOW who we’re speaking of. However…for the sake of this tour, and all she brought to us…she deserves to have her FULL name utilized and respected!

Most of us know her story, but to see her taking charge on stage here….she made you FEEL a part of her journey. Being a young black woman, headlining a 30 city tour with an ALL BLACK FEMALE band and singers behind her, Fantasia is the QUEEN of Rock Soul this tour! She gave us her ALL and left NOTHING behind! Fantasia had us dancing, singing along, laughing, crying, and took us all to church with praise and worship!  Her stage presence embodies Tina Turner, Aretha Franklin and Patti LaBelle with energy, soul, and sass!  Bottom line, the show was beyond AHHHMAZING from the beginning to the last note! This #BlackGirlROCKED!

Setlist included: Free Yourself, No Time For It, Bad Girl, Truth Is, Good Lovin’, Bittersweet, Two Weeks Notice, Move On Me, Collard Greens & Cornbread, When I See U, Holy Ghost, Lose To Win, Baby Mama, Enough, Looking For You, also cover excerpts of Poison (Bell Biv Devoe), Giving Him Something He Can Feel (Aretha Franklin), Sweet Love (Anita Baker)
