Dayton Funny Bone | Beavercreek OH
Wild Child Tour!
March 21, 2025 — the night I experienced Marlon Wayans live for the first time at the Dayton Funny Bone… his entire weekend of shows SOLD OUT! Of course, I’ve known about the infamous Wayans family for years. Who doesn’t? They’re comedy royalty. But I’d never seen Marlon (or any of the family) do stand-up before this night. Honestly, I didn’t know what to expect. Would it be wild and over-the-top like his movie roles? Would it be family-centric like some of his TV work? Turns out, it was all that and then some.
From the moment he hit the stage, Marlon had the crowd in the palm of his hand. His energy? Contagious. His stories? Hilarious. He didn’t just tell jokes — he shared life. Real life. Not to give away any content, but his jokes were about the kind of stuff we all go through as people and as parents, and just trying to navigate this crazy thing called adulthood. He had us cracking up about the everyday struggles we know all too well. And his stories about his kids? Pure comedic gold. The way he painted those parenting moments had me rolling!
But what really caught me off guard — in the best way — was how Marlon wove deeper messages into the laughs. He didn’t just make us chuckle; he made us reflect. He took the night to another level, diving into topics of faith, spirituality, and finding happiness. It wasn’t preachy, just real. His message? Life is short. Find your purpose. Believe in yourself. Trust in God. And most importantly — be happy.
By the end of the night, I walked out of that comedy club feeling lighter, happier, and oddly inspired. Marlon didn’t just put on a comedy show. He took us on a journey — one filled with laughs, lessons, and a whole lot of heart. If you ever get the chance to see him live, don’t hesitate. Trust me, you’ll leave with sore cheeks from laughing and a renewed sense of joy. It was a much-needed outing for me.
Here’s to finding the funny in life and chasing happiness — one laugh at a time!
