Funk-tastic Night in the Queen City!

Two legendary groups, The Spinners and The Commodores, rocked the stage at the Hard Rock Casino in Cincinnati, Ohio. The audience was filled with a multi-generational mix of fans!

The Spinners kicked off the evening with one of the smoothest grooves I love “Could It Be I’m Falling in Love.”  The song transported me back to my parents listening to them and this being one of their favorites.  The group’s energy and harmonies were felt throughout their performance by the audience.  The Spinners took us back to the era of real soul music with other hits including: “I’ll Be Around” “Then Came You” “Games People Play” and “The Rubberband Man”.

Sidenote: The last original member, Henry Fambrough retired in 2023, however today’s group is still carrying the legacy of showcasing the music we all love.

Following The Spinners it was time for The Commodores to bring their blend of funk, soul and R&B to the stage!  They had the crowd singing and dancing along from beginning to end! A few fans kept requesting “Brick House” which they closed out with calling all the ‘brick house’ ladies toward the stage!  But before that, they unleashed hit after hit including “Easy”  “Three Times a Lady” “Too Hot Ta Trot” “Nightshift” and “Lady”.

Sidenote: The newest member/singer Cody Orange along with his twin brother Colin who plays guitar for the band are the sons of former member Walter Orange! As William King (Co-Founder) mentioned during the show…they are the new generation Commodores!

Throughout the concert, both groups proved that great music lives on forever.  It was a night filled with nostalgia and fun!
