This was only my 2nd time EVER seeing my favorite music family, The Jacksons! My first being in 2019, which was a great experience and naturally bittersweet but fun all the same!
This time was all the above and MUCH MORE! Why? Because Tito, Marlon and Jackie went back home to Gary, Indiana and it was LIT! It’s one thing to see an artist/band but quite another when they are in their hometown! The LOVE….(and I mean that with the boldness and caps as intended) radiated throughout the venue. The anticipation leading up to the show, from the lights going down, to the screams from the opening, singing, dancing along til the end…wanting MORE, then screamed more during the encore, Gary IN turned it out and showed that no matter how long it’s been, The Jacksons will always be welcomed home!
This particular show had a special guest in the band. First cousin to the brothers and my friend, who lives in Gary…Keith Jackson on percussion! He brought the additional 🔥 to the set and showed out! I was such a proud friend seeing him with his family on stage!
Naturally we miss Michael Jackson being present, but I do believe he was there in spirit! The question always asked is “where’s Jermaine…where’s Randy?” Yes, it would be great if they both were there to make it a “Jackson 5” show however, the 3 brothers held their own, giving us an experience as only they can because with them, the legacy continues!
Not only did they perform the classic hits, a few songs of Michael were added in, and as a special treat, Tito Jackson performed the single “Love One Another” from his current CD “Under Your Spell“
Hard to believe it’s been decades since they’ve performed in Gary! The Jackson trio, the band/singers left that stage smokin 🔥🔥🔥! Family, Friends, and Fans alike truly enjoyed seeing them once again…back home!
Side Note: Tito, Marlon and Jackie were an integral part of the groundbreaking and Grand Opening of the Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana and this show was the kick off of several Hard Rock Live tour performances across the globe.
