**Hot Chocolate w/ cheese:** You break the cheese in bits then drop the cheese into the hot chocolate or dip it, let it melt a minute and then eat it.

**Arepa con Todo w/chicken:** Hominy white corn cake topped with your choice of shredded chicken, shrimp or calentado con huevos pericos, garnished with avocado, queso fresco and plantains

**Choripapas:** Colombian sausage and creole potatoes, served with tomato wedges and salsa rosada

**Empanadas con Aji:** Stuffed turnovers, choice of beef, chicken, or vegetables. Served with homemade mild or hot aji on the side

**Chuzos:** Your choice of beef, pork, or chicken (I had beef) skewer marinated in a special blend of Colombian spices and grilled to order. Served with an arepita, creole potatoes and pineapple gratin

One of my dear friends was born in Colombia and she found this local spot for us to celebrate for her birthday dinner. I had never experienced the cuisine or knew anything about the food/flavors. This was very much a different (in a great way) world for my palate.

This hidden gem in the middle of an almost obscure strip mall is intimate, yet roomy. The South American art pieces and background music gave it a very ethnic, authentic feel.

I’m honest to say I don’t know what most of the food names are, what they mean, and in most cases how to pronounce even! LOL But I will say this….everything we had was SOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOD!!! I cannot speak on the authenticity of the food, it would have to come from a native 🙂 I had no expectations on what it SHOULD taste like, but to me, everything was flavorful and seasoned.

The food is made to order, so if there was any downside, it’s the wait, so don’t be in a hurry for your meal. Enjoy the ambiance!
