Summary
Meeting RAYE wasn’t just a typical meet-and-greet—it felt like stepping into a warm, personal hangout with one of the most stunning and down-to-earth artists around. From the moment I walked in, it was pure magic.
When I saw her, I couldn’t help but greet her with, “Hey, gorgeous!” (Because seriously, have you seen her? She’s breathtaking!) Without missing a beat, RAYE smiled, hugged me, and said, “Oh my, you are beautiful!” Cue my heart doing a full somersault. That exchange alone could have made my entire evening, but there was so much more to come.
As we started chatting, she noticed the music-themed necklace I was wearing. “You must love music,” she said, and I couldn’t help but laugh. “Well, duh… YES, I do!” That little moment set the tone for the rest of our conversation. I shared how I first discovered her music and gushed about how her album is a masterpiece. Naturally, I had to ask if it was submitted for the Grammys. When she confirmed, I didn’t hold back: “Well, if you don’t win, I’m going to be very upset!” And I meant it.
One of the meet-and-greet perks was a personalized deck of cards inspired by her album, which she graciously signed for me. I also asked if she’d sign the vinyl I had just bought while waiting. She asked my name, and though I spelled it out, her pen got a little ahead of her ears, and let’s just say my name got an impromptu remix!
RAYE was adorably flustered about the small mistake and immediately insisted her team grab another vinyl for her to sign properly. Now I have two albums—one with a fun little story behind it! Honestly, I wouldn’t have been mad about the first one, but her genuine effort to make it right showed how much she cares about her fans.
The photo session was another highlight. RAYE didn’t rush it—she even suggested retaking some pictures to make sure we both loved them. Her attention to detail and willingness to take her time made me feel incredibly valued.
Before I left, she gave me another hug and hoped I’d enjoy the show. In total, I spent about 15 minutes with her—a rarity in the world of meet-and-greets. The time felt so personal, like I’d just hung out with a friend instead of a global superstar.
